The Heavy Vehicle Registration Assessment Scheme (HVRAS) is an initiative of the Queensland Government Department of Transport and Main Roads. It’s an accreditation enabling people to conduct inspections and complete appropriate paperwork for the registration of heavy vehicles of all types in Queensland, this includes but is not limited to trailers, motorhomes, trucks and caravans. Your Cairns HVRAS Inspector is Geoff Marshall, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the light and heavy automotive industry. He’ll complete an inspection in accordance with the requirements of HVRAS, to check that your heavy vehicle complies with the appropriate dimensions and specifications for registration in Queensland. How do you know if you need a Cairns HVRAS Inspector? If your heavy vehicle is unregistered in Queensland (regardless of interstate registration) then you need a HVRAS, in addition to a Certificate of Inspection. Geoff is a mobile Cairns HVRAS Inspector and is also an approved AIS examiner, so he can provide the complete range of inspection services required, to register and operate your heavy vehicle in Queensland.
Our accredited Cairns HVRAS Inspector will attend your location and complete the necessary HVRAS paperwork and Vehicle Details form (F3529), in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Aspects recorded in conjunction with the HVRAS includes ensuring your heavy vehicle (more than 4.5 tonne gross vehicle mass) and/or trailer (more than 750 aggregate trailer mass) complies with dimensional limitations, approved load sharing axle systems guidelines, safe tyre limits and vehicle identifiers (engine number, VIN and chassis number), for registration in Queensland. Our Cairns HVRAS Inspector can assess and document the following:
